Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful technician will be placed within the Quality Control or Central Laboratory department, responsible for performing a range of critical analytical tasks that support production processes and quality assurance. Core responsibilities include:

• Conducting routine and advanced chemical analyses using wet chemistry techniques.
• Specializing in the estimation and measurement of Soluble Copper and Copper Cyanide compound concentrations in various samples (e.g., water, raw materials, or intermediate products).
• Performing precise Titration experiments (such as acid-base, redox, and precipitation titrations) using standard equipment like burettes.
• Preparing standard chemical solutions and reagents with high accuracy according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Operating and maintaining essential laboratory instruments such as analytical balances, pH meters, and basic spectroscopic equipment.
• Accurately and faithfully recording analytical data and results in laboratory logbooks or electronic systems.
• Strictly adhering to chemical laboratory safety protocols, including the safe handling of chemicals and waste disposal.
• Contributing to analytical method validation and quality control of results.
• Working collaboratively with chemists, engineers, and other lab technicians to support departmental goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a suitable candidate for this specialized technical role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A diploma or certificate in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role as a Wet Chemistry Technician or Chemical Lab Technician, preferably within an industrial setting (e.g., chemical, petrochemical, or water treatment industries).
• Mandatory Technical Expertise: Proven, direct, hands-on experience in performing Soluble Copper and Copper Cyanide analyses. Strong practical proficiency in Titration techniques of various types.
• Personal Skills: High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliability and ability to follow procedures meticulously.
• Knowledge: Solid understanding of chemical laboratory safety principles (e.g., handling hazardous materials, using Personal Protective Equipment).
• Preferred Additional Skills: Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Experience with basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Proficiency in English for technical reading and comprehension.
