Overview

Perm State National Research University is the oldest university in the Ural region. It was founded in 1916 and soon became the foundation for the higher education system of the West Ural. It is situated in Perm, the city that is popular with its ballet, wooden sculptures and annual big festivals. Entire geological period was named after Perm – Permian period. In 2010 Perm University was awarded the status of National Research University, justifying its reputation as one of the leading Russian universities.Today more than 12 thousand students pursue their degree at 12 faculties. The University campus is like small European town. There are teaching blocks, clock tower, museums and the Botanic garden, culture center, libraries and gym halls. The University offers secondary-level vocational training, Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD’s educational programs.
