The University is situated on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples (Burnley, Fishermans Bend, Parkville, Southbank and Werribee campuses); the Yorta Yorta Nation (Dookie and Shepparton campuses); and the Dja Dja Wurrung people (Creswick campus).Established in 1853, it is one of Australia’s oldest universities and the first in Victoria. Today, the University’s vibrant community comprises over 50,000 students, including 40 per cent international students from more than 150 countries.
