Overview

West Virginia University is where mountaineers go first. As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, it is our mission and our passion to encourage students to be bold enough to dream big and learn to see “impossible” as just a challenge. With an enrollment of over 30,000 across our three campuses in Morgantown (main), Beckley (WVU Tech), and Keyser (Potomac State), WVU boasts students from all 55 West Virginia counties, each of the 50 states, and 107 nations. Our main campus, located in Morgantown, is about 70 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA, and within a day’s drive of Washington D.C., Cleveland, and New York City. Morgantown is consistently listed as one of the best college towns in America and was named the “No. 1 Small City in America” by BizJournals.com.
