Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Accountant will perform a range of core accounting and financial tasks to ensure the accuracy of financial records and smooth operational flow. Expected responsibilities include:

• Daily Accounting: Recording day-to-day journal entries, managing sales and purchase invoices, and expenses.
• Accounts Receivable & Payable: Handling customer (debtor) and supplier (creditor) accounts, ensuring timely follow-up on receivables and payments.
• Bank Reconciliation: Performing periodic reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure records match.
• Report Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of periodic financial statements and management reports highlighting financial performance.
• Compliance: Ensuring compliance with the company's internal accounting policies and generally accepted accounting practices.
• Month-End Support: Providing support during month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Working closely with sales, procurement, and warehouse departments to audit and coordinate financial information.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 2-3 years in an accounting role. Experience within the manufacturing, industrial, or similar company environment is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Practical knowledge of an accounting/ERP software (such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or others) is a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
