Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Accountant will perform a range of fundamental accounting and financial tasks to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with local regulations. Key responsibilities are expected to include:

• Daily Accounts Management: Accurately and timely recording of all financial transactions in the accounting ledgers, including invoices, expenses, and revenues.
• Bookkeeping: Preparing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring account balances are accurate and reconciled.
• Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of periodic financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement) in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Bank Reconciliation: Performing regular reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure internal records match bank statements.
• Accounts Receivable/Payable Management: Monitoring customer receivables, ensuring invoice collections, and managing supplier invoices and payments.
• Budgeting Support: Participating in the budgeting process and monitoring actual performance against approved budgets.
• Tax Compliance: Assisting in the preparation and submission of required tax filings in line with Value Added Tax (VAT) and other tax regulations in Kuwait.
• Audit Contributions: Providing necessary support and documentation during internal or external audit processes.
• Confidentiality Maintenance: Upholding the highest levels of confidentiality and security for sensitive financial and accounting information.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Professional accounting certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are a strong advantage.
• Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in an accounting role, preferably within private sector companies in Kuwait or the GCC region.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Hands-on experience using a major accounting software (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and local accounting practices in Kuwait.
• Personal Skills:
  • High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • High integrity and reliability in handling financial data.
  • Good time management and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
