Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed Accountant will perform a range of essential accounting and financial tasks to support the company's operations. The expected responsibilities for this role include:
- Preparing and managing daily journal entries and general ledger accounts.
- Contributing to periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) account closing processes.
- Preparing and reconciling bank statements.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Processing supplier invoices and expenses, ensuring accuracy.
- Contributing to internal audit processes and preparing for external audits.
- Ensuring compliance with the company's established accounting policies and procedures.
- Working closely with other departments to facilitate accurate financial information flow.
- Utilizing accounting software and financial systems (e.g., ERP) efficiently.
Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA, ACCA) or being in an advanced stage of obtaining one is highly preferred.
- Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in an accounting role. Experience in the real estate, investment, or similar sectors within the Gulf region is a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Hands-on experience with accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems – mention of specific systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is a strong plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Personal Skills:
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- High integrity and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
