Administrative Assistant, Government Relations - Kuwait

Job Description
The Administrative Assistant for Government Relations will play a pivotal role in facilitating communication and interaction between the organization and various government entities in the State of Kuwait. The role will not be purely routine but will require a precise understanding of local administrative and legal frameworks.
Key expected responsibilities include:
- Administrative and Organizational Support: Managing schedules, organizing meetings, appointments, and travel bookings related to Government Relations activities.
- Document and Correspondence Management: Preparing, formatting, reviewing, and proofreading official documents, correspondence, presentations, and reports directed to or concerning government entities.
- Coordination and Liaison: Acting as a point of contact between the GR team and other internal departments (such as Legal and Compliance) as well as with external representatives.
- Follow-up: Tracking applications and documents submitted to government entities and ensuring adherence to specified deadlines.
- Record Keeping: Organizing and maintaining a secure and confidential archive of sensitive documents and correspondence related to government affairs.
- Logistical Support: Assisting in the preparation for meetings, events, and functions involving government officials.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position in Kuwait, you are expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Proven work experience of at least 2-3 years in an administrative assistant role, with strong preference for prior experience supporting Government Relations (GR), Legal, or Compliance departments in Kuwait.
- Excellent command of Arabic (written and spoken) as the official language for dealing with government entities.
- Good command of English (written and spoken) for communication within a potentially international work environment.
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of Kuwaiti government procedures, ministerial structures, and official protocols.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build good working relationships.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
Work Location and Environment
This position is located in the State of Kuwait. The workplace is likely to be a main office within one of the commercial or industrial areas in Kuwait City or its modern districts. The Government Relations environment operates at a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, often requiring interaction with senior officials.
