Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Agricultural Engineer will work within a specialized team, with primary responsibilities including:

• Overseeing agricultural projects owned or supported by the Society, ensuring their implementation according to the highest technical and environmental standards.
• Providing technical consultation and scientific support to farmer members of the Society to help them improve their farm productivity and resources.
• Studying and evaluating soil and water, and proposing appropriate engineering solutions to improve irrigation efficiency and water resource management.
• Designing and implementing modern farming systems, such as protected agriculture (greenhouses), hydroponics, and smart farming, to increase yield and improve quality.
• Keeping abreast of the latest technologies and research in agricultural engineering and their practical applications in the UAE environment.
• Preparing periodic technical reports on project progress and submitting development proposals to management.
• Contributing to awareness programs and workshops organized by the Society to promote agricultural knowledge among members and the community.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

Applicants for this position must meet the following conditions:

• A Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in agricultural engineering or agricultural project management.
• Strong knowledge of modern farming techniques suitable for the Gulf region and semi-arid environments.
• In-depth understanding of water and irrigation management fundamentals and conservation.
• Proficiency in using specialized engineering and agricultural software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team and provide guidance to farmers.
• Proficiency in Arabic as the primary working language, with a good command of English.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with cooperative societies or community agricultural institutions.
