Assistant Cost Manager - Aviation Infrastructure

Job Description

The Assistant Cost Manager will be integrated into the Cost Management team at Mace, providing vital support across all stages of aviation infrastructure projects. These projects encompass airport developments, new terminals, maintenance facilities, and advanced cargo and logistics buildings.

Key Expected Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation of preliminary and detailed cost estimates for aviation projects.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of tender documentation.
• Review and evaluate contractor and supplier bids.
• Contribute to the preparation of periodic cost reports and monitoring of project budgets.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to ensure design aligns with budgetary constraints.
• Assist in managing project scope changes and evaluating their financial impact.
• Participate in quantity surveying and measurement verification processes.
• Maintain accurate cost records and adhere to company standards and industry best practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Architecture), Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB) are a strong advantage.
• Experience: Proven practical experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar role within the construction or real estate development sector, with a strong preference for prior experience in Aviation Infrastructure projects or other major, complex projects.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • In-depth understanding of construction measurement and pricing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of common construction contract forms (e.g., FIDIC).
• Personal Skills:
  • Analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Language: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantageous addition.
