Job Description and Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager for Learning and Development will hold a strategic position within the Human Resources department, responsible for assisting in leading and implementing the hotel's learning and development strategy. Efforts will focus on ensuring all team members acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional guest service, aligning with RAFFLES' global standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in developing and executing the hotel's annual Learning & Development plan, in collaboration with the L&D Manager and various department heads.
  • Designing, facilitating, and evaluating diverse training programs, including on-the-job training, new hire orientation, leadership skills programs, and career development initiatives.
  • Managing the Learning Management System (LMS) if available, ensuring training content is updated and employee course attendance is accurately recorded.
  • Conducting periodic Training Needs Assessments to identify skill and knowledge gaps and developing plans to address them.
  • Monitoring and tracking the effectiveness of training programs through approved evaluation tools and metrics, and reporting on training Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Supporting organizational culture initiatives and employee engagement programs that foster a positive and motivating work environment.
  • Overseeing the budget allocated for training activities and ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Staying updated on best practices and modern trends in the Learning & Development field within the hospitality and hotel sector.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related field. Professional certifications in training or HR development (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) are a strong added advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in Learning & Development or Training, with a preference for experience in the hotel, hospitality, or luxury service sector. Previous experience in an Assistant Manager or similar supervisory role is considered essential.
  • Personal Skills:
    • High-level communication and presentation skills (in both Arabic and English).
    • Ability to design and deliver training with passion and engagement.
    • Strong analytical skills to assess needs and measure outcomes.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • High organization and time management with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
    • Creativity and flexibility in designing innovative learning solutions.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Learning Management Systems.
