Job Overview

The Assistant Manager Sales will be appointed within the hotel's Sales & Marketing department. The role will be pivotal in supporting the Sales Manager and the sales team to achieve strategic objectives and increase the hotel's market share. This position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where customer service and strategic planning are key to success.

Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operational Support: Provide administrative and executive support to the Sales Manager in daily tasks and long-term planning.
  • Account Management: Assist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, and prospecting for new potential clients within target market segments (e.g., Corporate, MICE, Travel Agencies).
  • Proposal Assistance: Contribute to the preparation of professional quotations, contracts, and presentations for clients.
  • Follow-ups: Conduct follow-ups on cold calls and incoming inquiries to convert them into actual business.
  • Internal Coordination: Act as a liaison between the Sales department and other operational departments within the hotel (e.g., Front Office, F&B, Kitchen, Finance) to ensure accurate fulfillment of client requirements.
  • Reporting: Assist in preparing weekly and monthly sales reports, analyzing data, and tracking performance against set targets.
  • Event Participation: Represent the hotel at professional events and local trade shows as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism & Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven work experience of at least 2-3 years in hospitality (hotel) sales or marketing. Previous experience in a Sales Assistant or similar role within an international hotel chain is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint). Knowledge of hotel reservation systems (e.g., Opera) is a plus.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
    • Presentable, personable, and persuasive negotiation skills.
    • Knowledge of the tourism and business markets in Bahrain and the Gulf region.
