Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be integrated into the Finance or Human Resources department, serving as the primary point of contact for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all payroll operations. Core responsibilities include:
- Managing Monthly Payroll Cycles: Preparing, calculating, and reviewing all employee payrolls accurately and in a timely manner.
- Data Processing: Inputting and processing data for new hires, terminations, salary changes, leaves, bonuses, and statutory/voluntary deductions.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensuring full compliance with Qatari labor law and all relevant tax and social contribution regulations (e.g., social insurance).
- Inter-Departmental Coordination: Working closely with the HR and Finance departments to align payroll data with employee records and budgeting.
- Issue Resolution: Responding to employee payroll inquiries and resolving any discrepancies or errors promptly and professionally.
- Contributions & Reporting: Preparing relevant social security and tax contributions, and generating periodic payroll reports for management.
- Record Maintenance: Maintaining organized, confidential, and secure electronic and physical payroll records.
- Process Improvement: Contributing to the improvement and development of payroll procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a similar role (Payroll Officer, Payroll Specialist) within a professional work environment. Experience in the Qatari or GCC market is a significant advantage.
- Language Skills: Full professional proficiency in both written and spoken Arabic and English. This is a core requirement for the role to handle a diverse workforce and official documentation.
- Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with computer software, especially Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables) and payroll software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WPS). Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is required.
- Personal Skills:
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
