Job Overview
The Business Development Manager will be primarily responsible for leading expansion efforts and increasing the company's market share locally and regionally. The focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with potential clients, and formulating and executing effective sales and business development strategies. Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives.
- Research and identify new, promising business opportunities within the logistics and distribution sectors, including warehousing, land and sea freight, supply chain management, and door-to-door distribution.
- Build and maintain a strong network of relationships with new potential clients while nurturing existing customer relationships.
- Lead the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and deal closure.
- Prepare compelling commercial proposals and detailed quotations that address specific client needs.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT).
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to enhance brand visibility and network.
- Work closely with operations, marketing, and finance teams to ensure the successful implementation of new projects.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, activity plans, and revenue forecasts for senior management.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of proven experience in business development or sales within the logistics and distribution sector or related industries.
- A demonstrable track record of successfully meeting or exceeding sales targets and closing significant deals.
- In-depth knowledge of the logistics and distribution markets in Oman and the GCC region.
- An existing professional network within the industry is a significant competitive advantage.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills, with the ability to deliver effective presentations.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong team spirit.
- Full professional proficiency in English (spoken and written). Knowledge of Arabic will be a strong asset.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data tools and reports for decision-making.
- Flexibility to travel within Oman and the GCC region as required.
