Job Overview

The newly hired Buyers will be placed within the company's Supply Chain or Procurement department, where they will be responsible for core activities that ensure the efficient flow of materials and services to support the company's operations and business objectives. Key Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of pivotal tasks, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing Request for Quotations (RFQs), Purchase Orders (POs), and following up with approved vendors.
  • Negotiating contract terms, prices, and delivery schedules to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures as well as Qatari regulatory standards.
  • Tracking purchase orders and updating relevant databases to ensure record accuracy.
  • Collaborating with other internal departments (such as Operations, Warehouse, Finance) to understand their needs and coordinate fulfillment.
  • Periodically analyzing and evaluating supplier performance.
  • Managing supply chain risks and contributing to cost-reduction strategies.
  • Addressing any supply issues or delivery delays with suppliers to find prompt solutions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Educational Background and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar role (Buyer or Procurement Officer) in a company of comparable size and scope.
  • Experience in sectors such as Construction, Oil & Gas, Logistics, or Manufacturing will be a strong added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of supplier markets in Qatar and the Gulf region.

Personal and Professional Skills:

  • Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Analytical ability and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High integrity and professional ethics.
