Civil Design Engineer - Doha, Qatar

Master Contracting and Trading is currently inviting applications for the position of Civil Design Engineer to be based in their Doha, Qatar office. Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful engineer will be integrated into the engineering design team, bearing responsibility for the technical and planning aspects of civil projects. Core responsibilities include:

• Design & Analysis: Preparing detailed engineering designs and construction drawings for civil and structural projects using the latest Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and appropriate analytical tools.
• Technical Documentation: Developing technical reports, material specifications, quantity calculations, and preliminary project schedules.
• Quality & Compliance Assurance: Ensuring all designs and plans adhere to applicable Qatari building codes, international standards, and safety requirements.
• Internal & External Coordination: Working closely with other project teams (e.g., site engineers, project managers) and coordinating with consultants and subcontractors as needed.
• Proposal Review: Contributing to the technical review of proposals for new projects and providing necessary design input.
• Problem Solving: Offering practical engineering solutions to design challenges that may arise during planning or execution phases.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree in a relevant specialization will be an added advantage.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the design of civil and structural projects, with preference given to experience in infrastructure, commercial, or residential building projects within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
• Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, and structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, or STAAD.Pro). Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software like Revit is a strong advantage.
• Regulatory Knowledge: A deep understanding of building systems and regulations in the State of Qatar and relevant international standards.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage time and multitask effectively under pressure.
• Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic will be beneficial.
