Commissioning Manager - IMCO Engineering & Construction
IMCO Engineering & Construction WLL is actively recruiting for the position of Commissioning Manager to be based in Doha, Qatar. Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Commissioning Manager will be the primary leader responsible for overseeing and coordinating all phases of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final handover of the company's projects. The core responsibilities for this role include:
- Leadership & Planning: Leading the commissioning and handover team and developing comprehensive, detailed commissioning plans for each project, ensuring alignment with the established schedule and budget.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Supervising all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities to guarantee full compliance with technical specifications, stringent quality standards, and local and international safety regulations.
- Coordination & Supervision: Effectively coordinating between various stakeholders, including engineering design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and the client's operations teams, to ensure a seamless transition of the project from construction to operational status.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying potential risks and challenges during the commissioning phase, developing mitigation plans, and resolving any technical or operational issues that arise during testing and startup procedures.
- Handover & Training: Managing the final project handover process to the client, including the preparation of all technical documentation (operation manuals, maintenance plans, warranty certificates) and conducting necessary training programs for the client's operating personnel.
- Reporting: Preparing detailed periodic progress reports on commissioning activities for company senior management and the client.
Qualifications & Requirements
To qualify for this leadership opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related field) from an accredited university. A Master's degree or professional certifications specializing in commissioning management (e.g., CCP) is a strong advantage.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction or engineering projects industry, with a focused background in managing commissioning and handover processes for large-scale projects (e.g., Oil & Gas, Power Plants, Industrial Facilities, or Infrastructure Projects). This must include at least 5 years in a leadership role as a Commissioning Manager or equivalent position.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of international commissioning and testing standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, NFPA) and a thorough understanding of the project lifecycle from design to handover.
- Personal Skills: Excellent leadership and managerial abilities, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) in English; Arabic is a significant plus. The ideal candidate will possess high analytical skills, decision-making capability under pressure, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
