Brunel, a global leader in specialized staffing and project services for the energy and infrastructure sectors, is currently seeking an experienced Commissioning PTW Coordinator (HU) to join one of its major clients in the State of Qatar. This position represents a key opportunity for seasoned oil and gas professionals to contribute to major projects in one of the world's most dynamic energy hubs.

Job Description

The Commissioning PTW Coordinator (HU) will play a critical role in ensuring all commissioning and field execution activities are carried out in compliance with the highest standards of safety and quality. This individual will be the primary point of control for the Permit to Work (PTW) system during the crucial Hook-Up & Commissioning phase of projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing and implementing the Permit to Work (PTW) system for all activities during the Hook-Up & Commissioning (HU) phase at the project site.
  • Reviewing and assessing PTW applications for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established safety protocols.
  • Facilitating field coordination between commissioning teams, contractors, and HSE departments to ensure clear understanding of permit conditions and procedures.
  • Conducting field inspections and surveillance to verify compliance with permit stipulations.
  • Properly issuing, closing, and archiving work permits, maintaining accurate records.
  • Participating in daily safety meetings (e.g., Toolbox Talks) and ensuring PTW requirements are communicated to all involved personnel.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all relevant company and local/international HSE policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Promptly reporting any non-compliance, incidents, or unsafe working conditions.

Requirements and Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial) or a related HSE/Operations field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role (PTW Coordinator, Safety Technician) within the oil & gas or energy sector.
  • Hands-on experience in project Hook-Up & Commissioning phases is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Safety Management Systems (e.g., ISO 45001) and industry-standard Permit to Work protocols.
  • Recognized HSE certifications are a strong advantage (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
  • Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
