Job Description
The appointed Mine Surveyor will be hired on a fixed-term contract basis, responsible for a range of precise and vital technical tasks to ensure the accuracy and safety of mining operations. Modern mining heavily relies on accurate survey data for planning, monitoring, and execution.
Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct land surveying and topographical analysis for mine and quarry sites.
- Collect field survey data using the latest technologies and equipment such as Total Stations, GPS/GNSS systems, and laser scanners.
- Process and analyze survey data to produce maps, cross-sections, and digital 3D models.
- Calculate cut and fill volumes and monitor ore stockpiles.
- Provide accurate data to support both long-term and short-term mine planning operations.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and required site safety specifications.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and data presentations for engineers and management.
- Work closely with on-site engineering, operations, and production teams.
Job Requirements and Qualifications

Academic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geomatics (Surveying Sciences), or a related field.
- Holders of a high technical diploma in Surveying with extensive experience may be considered.
Required Practical Experience:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in mine surveying or engineering surveying on major project sites, preferably within the mining or quarrying sector.
- Practical knowledge of operating and maintaining advanced surveying instruments and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Surpac, Vulcan, or similar).
- Experience working in challenging environments with a strong commitment to safety procedures.

- Good written and verbal communication and reporting skills.
