Contract QA/QC Engineer (3 Months Hire)

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The QA/QC Engineer will be primarily responsible for ensuring all project works comply with technical specifications, standard codes, and applicable quality regulations locally and internationally. Reporting to the Project Manager or Head of Quality, this role is pivotal in maintaining the company's reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key expected responsibilities include:

• Implementing and enforcing the project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plan.
• Conducting periodic inspections and surveillance of materials and site works to ensure compliance with approved specifications and drawings.
• Preparing and maintaining quality inspection records and daily reports (e.g., Material Inspection Reports, Reports on Hidden Works, etc.).
• Verifying that all materials used on the project have the necessary Certificates of Conformity (COC) and meet required standards.
• Coordinating with subcontractors and supervising their adherence to quality standards.
• Participating in quality coordination meetings and providing status reports.
• Identifying non-conformities, issuing reports, and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are taken.
• Initial review of Method Statements and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) submitted by subcontractors.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements related to quality operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field) from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a QA/QC Engineer role within the construction and development contracting sector. Experience in infrastructure or large commercial projects is a significant advantage.
• Professional Certifications: Professionally recognized certifications in quality management such as (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) or other relevant certificates are highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international quality standards (ISO), Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), and local building regulations.
• Personal Skills:
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in both English and Arabic (required).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Other Requirements: The applicant must be currently residing in Qatar and possess a transferable work permit (Valid QID with NOC). This is an immediate hiring position.
