Job Overview
The Data Governance Senior Lead Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's data is managed effectively, efficiently, and with high security. In the context of rapid digital transformation and the importance of data as a strategic asset, the incumbent will be responsible for establishing the policies, standards, and procedures that govern the data lifecycle within Tadawul Group. This role operates within a specialized team aimed at enhancing data quality, reliability, and accessibility for stakeholders while maintaining compliance with local and international regulations.
Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and Implement Data Governance Framework: Design and lead the implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework aligned with global best practices (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) and the Group's strategic objectives.
- Establish Policies and Standards: Formulate, update, and maintain data management policies, procedures, and guidelines, including data classification, quality management, access rights, and information security.
- Leadership and Coordination: Lead data governance committees or working groups and coordinate with various departments (Technology, Business, Security, Compliance) to ensure the adoption and application of governance principles across the enterprise.
- Ensure Quality and Compliance: Monitor and measure data quality and ensure data management processes comply with relevant regulations such as (local Capital Market Authority regulations, personal data protection requirements, etc.).
- Awareness and Training: Develop and implement awareness and training programs for employees to foster a culture of responsible data management within the organization.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess data risks and propose appropriate mitigation controls.
- Reporting: Prepare periodic reports for senior management on the state of data governance, risks, compliance levels, and the success of initiatives.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent. A higher degree (Master’s) or professional certifications (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a strong advantage.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in data management or data governance, with proven experience in leading data governance initiatives within large organizations, particularly in the financial or technology sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of data governance concepts and frameworks (e.g., DMBoK, DCAM), data management tools, and information security & privacy principles.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the regulatory environment in the Saudi financial sector and data-related regulations.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Language: Proficiency in both Arabic and English, written and spoken.
