Job Description
The Design Engineer will play a pivotal role within the engineering department, responsible for developing and implementing precise engineering designs that support ship repair, development, and marine structure operations. This role relies on combining deep theoretical knowledge with applied skills to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety are met.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop detailed engineering drawings and schematics (2D and 3D) using specialized Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Participate in the design of marine and mechanical components and systems for vessels and drydock operations.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct necessary engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions.
- Review and modify existing designs based on project requirements or inspection and maintenance findings.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and specification documents.
- Ensure compliance with international marine industry standards and applicable safety regulations.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Additional certifications or training in advanced CAD software or naval design will be a strong advantage.
Professional Experience:
- Proven work experience in engineering design, preferably in a marine industrial environment, shipbuilding, or ship repair yards.
- Strong proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards and materials used in the marine industry.
- Ability to read and understand complex engineering schematics and drawings.
