Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Director of Sales will hold a pivotal role within the hotel's management structure, being directly responsible for leading and developing all sales activities to achieve financial and strategic objectives. The core responsibilities of this leadership position include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Developing and implementing a comprehensive and effective sales plan aligned with the hotel's financial goals and Hilton's overall regional strategy.
  • Team Management: Leading and directing the local sales team, including recruitment, training, development, and motivation of individuals to achieve their maximum potential and performance.
  • Business Development: Identifying new growth opportunities in the market and developing strategic relationships with key clients, including corporate accounts, travel agencies, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) organizers.
  • Account Management: Maintaining strong relationships with the existing client base while proactively pursuing new client acquisition through strategic sales initiatives.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis: Conducting regular analysis of the market and competitors to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, and adjusting sales strategies accordingly.
  • Budgeting & Reporting: Preparing and managing the sales department budget, ensuring revenue targets are met. Providing detailed periodic performance reports to senior management.
  • Internal Collaboration: Working closely with other hotel departments such as Marketing, Revenue, Reservations, and Food & Beverage to deliver integrated proposals and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
  • Brand Representation: Representing the Hilton hotel and its brand with the highest level of professionalism at industry events and business meetings.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Work Experience: Proven experience of at least 7-10 years in hospitality sales or related fields, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role (Sales Manager or equivalent) within a five-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Strategic Knowledge: Deep understanding of hospitality sales strategies, revenue management, and corporate and international travel markets.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to lead and motivate a multicultural team to achieve ambitious targets. Excellent communication and delegation skills.
  • Analytical & Commercial Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data and market performance to make informed business decisions.
  • Technical Skills: Full proficiency in Microsoft Office suites, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of hotel Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera) is a significant advantage.
  • Personal Attributes: Dynamic personality, proactive, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Languages: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Arabic language skills are a strong asset in the Kuwaiti job market.
