Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Relationship Manager for Private Banking will occupy a pivotal role in developing and managing a portfolio of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNWIs) and institutional families. The focus will be on delivering integrated, tailor-made banking and financial solutions that address the complex needs of this client segment.

Core expected responsibilities include:

  • Business Development: Identifying and acquiring new high-net-worth clients who align with the bank's strategy and criteria, leveraging professional networks and personal relationships.
  • Portfolio Management: Managing comprehensive and sustainable relationships with existing clients, developing a deep understanding of their financial goals and aspirations to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Strategic Advisory: Acting as a trusted strategic partner to the client, providing premier advisory across a wide range of products and services, including wealth management, financial planning, investments, cross-generational banking, and specialized credit services.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborating closely with internal specialist teams (e.g., investment specialists, tax planners, product experts) to deliver cohesive, client-customized solutions.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensuring full compliance with all local and international regulatory laws, internal bank standards, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures.
  • Leadership & Strategic Contribution: Contributing to the growth and profitability objectives of the Private Banking team within the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

HSBC is looking for candidates with a proven track record of success in a private banking or wealth management environment.

Professional Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of proven experience in private banking or high-net-worth client wealth management, with a strong and active network in the UAE and/or GCC market.
  • Deep understanding of global financial markets, different asset classes (equities, fixed income, funds, alternatives), and private banking products.
  • Experience in advising on financial planning, tax structuring, and estate planning matters.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UAE regulatory frameworks, particularly those issued by the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).
  • Exceptional relationship building and maintenance skills, with outstanding communication and negotiation abilities at the highest level.
  • A strong commitment to the highest standards of integrity, professional ethics, and compliance.

Academic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or recognized professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CFP, CISI) are a significant advantage.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage.
