Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Drilling & Workover Engineer will be responsible for the technical and operational oversight of drilling and workover activities, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning & Supervision: Participating in the planning of drilling and workover operations and supervising their execution on-site to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Quality Assurance/Control (QA/QC): Implementing and enforcing rigorous QA/QC programs for all phases of drilling and workover operations. This includes equipment inspection, procedure review, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications, international standards, and company regulations.
• Process Optimization: Analyzing operational data and identifying areas for improvement to enhance performance, reduce costs, and increase productivity while maintaining safety standards.
• Team Coordination: Working closely with on-site crews, contractors, and other departments such as geology and safety to ensure seamless integration of operations.
• Reporting: Preparing detailed technical reports on operational progress, any incidents or deviations, improvement recommendations, and presenting them to management.
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to all applicable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs and procedures on-site and in Kuwait.

Requirements & Qualifications

To qualify for this critical technical role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering field (Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent).
• Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 5 years in drilling engineering and/or workover operations within the oil and gas sector. Previous experience in roles focused on Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) will be a significant advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of drilling systems and equipment, workover procedures, and relevant engineering principles. Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., API standards) and safety protocols.
• Personal Skills: Strong leadership and decision-making abilities under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written). Ability to work in a team and within a multicultural environment.
• Certifications: Certifications in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and/or Quality Management will be highly regarded.
• Language: Proficiency in English for technical communication and reporting. Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
