Job Description and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be appointed within the Humanities or Social Sciences department and will be primarily responsible for delivering the Economics curriculum to students in Key Stages 4 and 5 (KS4-KS5), typically encompassing IGCSE and A-Level (or equivalent international curriculum) courses. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering stimulating and effective Economics lessons that meet the needs of all students.

  • Monitoring and evaluating student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Economics or a closely related field. A higher degree (Master's or PhD) is preferred.
  • Professional Qualification: A recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, Teaching License, QTS, or international equivalent).
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching Economics at the secondary level (KS4 and KS5) in a school setting, preferably within an international school or one following a British curriculum.
  • Additional Subject: Experience in teaching either Mathematics or Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a strong and highly desired advantage.
  • Skills: A deep understanding of the Economics curriculum at IGCSE and A-Level. Excellent communication and organizational skills. The ability to work both as part of a team and independently. Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-changing educational environment.
