Job Description

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing and analyzing accurate cost estimates for engineering and construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency and bid accuracy. Key Expected Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimate Preparation: Analyze tender documents (drawings, specifications, contract terms) and prepare detailed estimates for project capital and operational costs.
• Quantity Take-Off: Perform quantity take-offs from engineering drawings using specialized software or manual methods.
• Material & Labor Pricing: Research current market prices for required raw materials, equipment, and services, and estimate labor costs.
• Bid Documentation: Compile and format all estimate components into professional, cohesive bids and proposals for management or client submission.
• Departmental Coordination: Work closely with design engineers, project engineers, and procurement managers to ensure data accuracy and realistic assumptions.
• Cost Review & Analysis: Review vendor and subcontractor bids and compare them with in-house estimates.
• Database Management: Maintain an updated database of material prices and production rates to improve the accuracy of future estimates.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this role in a demanding industrial environment like Jubail, you should meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or any related engineering discipline.
• Advanced professional certifications or courses in cost management or estimation may be an added advantage.

Practical Experience:

• Proven work experience (typically a minimum of 3-5 years) in an Estimation Engineer role, preferably within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial project sector.
• Hands-on experience in Jubail Industrial City or similar environments will be highly valued.

Technical & Personal Skills:

• Strong proficiency in estimation software, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards and specifications (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM).
