Estimation & Tendering Engineer (Fitout Project) Jobs in Doha, Qatar

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The engineer will be responsible for the financial and technical aspects of tenders, from initial receipt to final submission. Key responsibilities include:

• Tender Document Analysis: Conduct a thorough review of all Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, including drawings, technical specifications, and contract conditions to ensure a complete understanding of project requirements.
• Preparation of Accurate Cost Estimates: Perform quantity take-offs for materials (finishes, furniture, lighting, etc.) and estimate costs for labor, equipment, and raw materials with high precision to ensure bid competitiveness and profitability.
• Liaison with Suppliers and Subcontractors: Soliciting quotations and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and quality for materials and subcontracted services.
• Compilation of Technical & Commercial Bid Documents: Drafting and assembling all sections of the tender submission, including the cover letter, proposed schedule, methodology, warranties, and terms & conditions.
• Risk Analysis: Identifying and assessing potential project risks (cost, schedule, execution) and proposing mitigation measures within the submitted proposal.
• Follow-up and Communication: Following up on submitted bids with potential clients and addressing their technical and commercial queries during the bid evaluation period.
• Continuous Improvement: Participating in post-bid analysis (won/lost) to identify lessons learned and improve future estimation processes and pricing strategies.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role (Estimation or Tendering Engineer), with a strong focus on Fitout and Interior Projects for commercial, residential, and hospitality buildings.
• Technical Skills:
  • Excellent proficiency in core computer software (MS Office) and specialized estimation software (e.g., CCS, Candy, or similar).
  • In-depth understanding of reading construction and shop drawings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fitout material types, market rates, and installation methods.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Qatar is a significant advantage.
• Personal Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical and numerical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate with other departments (e.g., Design, Projects, Procurement).
