Job Description and Responsibilities
The Executive Chef will be fully responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations within the hotel. The focus will be on achieving the highest quality standards, innovating in food presentation, and ensuring complete guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership and Management: Leading the entire kitchen brigade, including chefs and commis, guiding and motivating them to achieve excellence. Responsible for training, professional development of the team, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Financial and Operational Planning: Preparing and monitoring the kitchen's operational budget, effectively controlling costs through inventory management, purchasing, and waste reduction, while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Menu Development and Innovation: Designing and developing innovative, attractive, and competitive menus that align with the hotel's global identity and meet the diverse expectations of guests, considering global and local culinary trends.
- Quality and Safety Control: Ensuring the strict and precise application of local and international food hygiene and safety standards (e.g., HACCP) across all kitchen sections. Continuous monitoring of ingredient quality and final dishes.
- Supplier and Inventory Management: Selecting reliable suppliers for fresh, high-quality food items and managing purchasing and storage processes efficiently.
- Internal Collaboration: Working closely with other hotel departments, such as Food & Beverage management, Sales, and Room Service, to ensure an integrated and cohesive dining experience for guests.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role at Hilton Kuwait, you should meet the following criteria:
- Practical Experience: Proven experience of at least 8 to 10 years in the culinary field, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
- Academic Qualification: A degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management from a recognized institution is a strong advantage.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to lead, motivate a team, and manage performance under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of various international cuisines, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Administrative Skills: Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and managing schedules and inventory.
- Creativity and Innovation: A genuine passion for food and the ability to innovate and develop new concepts.
- Personal Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), problem-solving ability, and strong attention to detail.
- Language: Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
