The Oman Investment Authority (OIA) is inviting applications for the position of Finance Manager at its headquarters in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Job Description and Responsibilities

The appointed Finance Manager will hold key leadership and strategic responsibilities, including:

  • Financial Leadership: Overseeing all financial activities and functions within the Authority or one of its affiliated investment entities.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Leading budgeting, financial forecasting, and performance analysis processes to ensure financial and strategic objectives are met.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensuring accuracy, transparency, and the preparation of periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) in accordance with the highest international standards (e.g., International Financial Reporting Standards - IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Risk Management: Developing and implementing effective policies and procedures for managing financial risks, including market, credit, and liquidity risks.
  • Treasury & Financing: Optimizing cash flow management, ensuring liquidity adequacy for operations, and exploring optimal financing options when required.
  • Compliance & Internal Control: Ensuring full compliance with local and international laws and regulations and fostering a strong internal control environment.
  • Team Leadership: Leading and developing a professional finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous collaboration.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Advanced degrees (MBA, Finance) or global professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CFA are highly preferred.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in the finance field, with proven experience in leadership roles (Finance Manager or Assistant Finance Manager) within major financial institutions, investment firms, sovereign wealth funds, or complex corporate environments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), financial statement analysis, financial modeling, investment portfolio management, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, strategic decision-making, and team management abilities within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Personal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English, with the ability to present complex reports clearly to senior management and stakeholders.
