Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Guest Experience Expert will occupy a central role in the hotel's operations, acting as the primary point of hospitality contact for guests throughout their stay. The focus is on ensuring a seamless and enjoyable journey from arrival to departure. Core responsibilities include:

  • Welcome and Arrival: Greeting guests upon arrival and checking them in efficiently and warmly, providing clear information about the hotel's facilities and services.
  • Stay Coordination: Handling pre-arrival guest requests (e.g., flowers, amenities, special arrangements) and ensuring their accurate execution prior to guest arrival.
  • Guest Experience Management: Proactively monitoring guest stays, checking in on satisfaction, and swiftly intervening to resolve any issues to maintain a consistently positive experience.
  • Complaint and Challenge Resolution: Handling any guest inquiries, complaints, or challenging situations with high professionalism, calmness, and initiative, aiming to turn potential problems into opportunities to delight the guest.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Working closely with various hotel departments such as Front Office, Food & Beverage, Room Service, and Engineering to coordinate services and fulfill special requests.
  • Knowledge and Communication: Possessing extensive knowledge of all hotel facilities, services, promotions, as well as local Manama attractions and restaurants to provide valuable recommendations to guests.
  • Follow-up and Departure: Conducting follow-ups with guests during or after their stay as needed, ensuring a smooth checkout process, and inviting them to return.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be a successful candidate for this role within a competitive environment like Marriott International, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Education and Experience: A diploma or bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Tourism, or a related field is an advantage. Proven practical experience of at least 1-2 years in customer service or front desk roles within the luxury hotel or hospitality sector is essential.
  • Personal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic (mandatory). Ability to listen effectively and understand diverse customer needs.
  • Service Orientation: A genuine passion for serving others and creating positive experiences. You must possess patience, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with all personalities.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Quick, proactive thinking and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
