Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Head Chef will be responsible for the overall management of kitchen operations, with a primary focus on delivering authentic and innovative Italian dishes. Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership & Supervision: Efficiently lead and manage the kitchen brigade, including training, mentoring, task delegation, and ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
• Menu Development: Design and execute seasonal and appealing menus that reflect Italian culinary traditions with modern, innovative touches, considering the availability of local and international ingredients.
• Quality Control: Ensure the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety at all stages of food preparation, from receiving raw materials to final presentation.
• Cost Control: Oversee the financial aspects of the kitchen, including inventory management, cost monitoring, waste reduction, and contributing to profitable outcomes.
• Compliance & Standards: Full adherence to all local health and safety regulations in force in the State of Kuwait.
• Communication: Work closely with restaurant management and the service team to ensure a seamless and excellent guest experience.

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Proven Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in the culinary field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Head Chef or Sous Chef) in a high-end Italian restaurant or a 5-star hotel.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep and authentic understanding of Italian cooking techniques, regional ingredients, and Italian culinary traditions. Knowledge of fresh pasta making, stone-oven pizza, and traditional sauces is essential.
• Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, with effective communication and delegation skills.
• Administrative Skills: Experience in managing kitchen budgets, cost control, and inventory procedures.
• Certification: A culinary arts degree or related qualification is a significant advantage.
• Personal Attributes: Ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, creativity, and a commitment to delivering superior quality.
• Language: Proficiency in English for communication is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
