Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Health Club Receptionist will serve as the primary point of contact for all guests and visitors to the health club. Key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service and Greeting: Welcoming guests and members to the health club in a friendly, professional manner, creating a positive first impression that reflects Marriott's high standards.
- Daily Operations Management: Managing member check-ins and check-outs, handling bookings for facilities and sessions such as personal training appointments or group fitness classes.
- Financial Transactions: Processing payments for new memberships, membership renewals, and sales of related retail items or services (e.g., athletic wear, health drinks), ensuring accuracy in cash handling and accounting.
- Information and Support: Providing clear and comprehensive information to guests regarding club facilities, equipment, class schedules, and policies, answering inquiries in person and over the phone.
- Upholding Standards: Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the reception and entrance areas in coordination with housekeeping and maintenance teams.
- Teamwork: Collaborating closely with fitness instructors, spa & wellness staff, and other hotel service teams to provide a seamless and integrated guest experience.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring guests are aware of and adhere to basic health club safety rules and procedures.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum. A diploma or certification in Hospitality Management, Sports Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably within a hotel, health club, gym, or fitness center environment. Experience with booking systems and Point of Sale (POS) systems is a strong advantage.
- Personal Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- A friendly, courteous personality with a proactive, service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak times while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Professional personal presentation and grooming.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in computer use and basic Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
