Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The selected specialist will be an integral part of the Quality and Health team, undertaking vital responsibilities including:

• Meal Development and Analysis: Designing and analyzing the nutritional content of meals, snacks, and beverages for passengers and crew, ensuring they meet global dietary standards and specific passenger needs.
• Managing Special Dietary Requirements: Addressing and fulfilling special meal requests based on passengers' health needs (e.g., gluten-free, low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, allergen-specific meals) and religious beliefs (halal, vegetarian, vegan, etc.).
• Ensuring Food Safety: Contributing to the development and implementation of food safety programs (HACCP) and ensuring compliance with local and international health regulations across all production stages.
• Training and Awareness: Providing training and guidance to kitchen and catering staff on principles of sound nutrition, safe food handling practices, and specific meal safety procedures.
• Quality Control: Conducting regular inspections and audits of production processes to verify the application of the highest hygiene and nutritional quality standards.
• Research and Development: Participating in R&D initiatives to introduce new, healthy menu items that meet market trends and diverse passenger expectations.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, or a related health field from a recognized university. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications in the specialty is preferred.
• Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in clinical nutrition, community dietetics, or food service management within an institutional, hotel, or airline catering environment. Experience in a food manufacturing or mass catering services setting is a significant advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of nutrition principles, nutritional analysis, and therapeutic diet systems. Comprehensive understanding of food safety management systems like HACCP.
• Personal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic (advantageous). Ability to work within a team and in a fast-paced environment. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Additional Requirements: Flexibility in working hours when required.
