Job Description

The Housekeeping Coordinator will serve as the operational backbone of the Housekeeping department, responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations to achieve the highest standards of cleanliness and order throughout the hotel. They will work closely with housekeeping supervisors and staff, hotel management, and other departments to ensure guest expectations are not only met but exceeded.

Key Expected Responsibilities:

  • Coordination & Planning: Coordinate the daily schedule for the housekeeping team, including room cleaning, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Assign tasks fairly and efficiently based on hotel occupancy and priorities.
  • Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and hotel linen (such as towels and bed linens). Place timely purchase orders and verify receipt of goods to maintain required inventory levels.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with Hilton's stringent cleanliness and presentation standards. Provide immediate feedback to the team and supervisors for any shortcomings.
  • Communication & Liaison: Act as a central communication link between the Housekeeping department and other departments such as Front Office, Maintenance, and F&B. Promptly and professionally handle special guest requests related to housekeeping services.

  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to prioritize, manage time, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Meticulous attention to detail is crucial.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English. The ability to give clear instructions and interact with colleagues and guests from diverse backgrounds.
  • Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and Word). Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong team spirit, a positive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure. The candidate must be proactive and capable of problem-solving proactively.
  • Education: A diploma or qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but practical experience holds greater significance.
