Instrument Maintenance Technician - Power Sector Job

Job Overview

The successful technician will be stationed at power sector facilities, with the core responsibility of ensuring that Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems operate with the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. These systems are the backbone of any industrial process, especially in the power sector, where they monitor and control critical variables such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on a wide range of instrumentation devices, including pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and analyzers.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in control systems, responding promptly to emergency breakdowns to ensure operational continuity.
• Calibrate instruments according to precise technical specifications, standards, and applicable regulations.
• Read and interpret engineering schematics and electrical drawings (P&IDs, Loop Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams).
• Collaborate closely with control engineers and technicians from other departments to implement development projects or modifications to existing systems.
• Document all maintenance, repair, and calibration work in required technical reports and logs.
• Strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures on-site, which are of paramount priority in industrial settings.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in instrument and control maintenance, with preference given to experience in the power, oil & gas, or heavy industries.
• Deep practical knowledge of various types of control and instrumentation devices (e.g., Siemens, Fisher, Yokogawa, etc.).
• Excellent fault-finding and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team under pressure.
• Proficiency in English for reading and comprehension (to understand technical manuals and instructions).
• Flexibility to work in different shifts if required.
