Job Overview

The successful technicians will be responsible for the maintenance, installation, calibration, and testing of instrumentation and control systems used in industrial facilities. Key Responsibilities & Duties (For both Instrument Technician & Senior Instrument Technician)

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters, control valves, and control systems.
• Calibrate precision instruments according to technical specifications and approved standards to ensure reading accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in control systems and field instruments.
• Read and interpret engineering schematics, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and electrical drawings.
• Execute installation and modification work for new or upgraded instrumentation systems.
• Prepare maintenance reports and record technical data accurately.
• Strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures on the work site.
• For the Senior Instrument Technician: Additional responsibilities may include supervising a small team, training less experienced technicians, participating in maintenance planning, and reviewing work procedures.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background & Experience:

• Instrument Technician: A diploma in Engineering (specialization in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, Electronics) or an equivalent technical qualification. 2 to 5 years of practical experience in instrument maintenance within an industrial environment is preferred.
• Senior Instrument Technician: A diploma or higher qualification in a relevant field. Minimum 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation and control, with proven experience in lead or supervisory roles.
• Experience in heavy industries such as Oil & Gas, Refineries, or Petrochemicals is a significant advantage.

Personal & Technical Skills:

• In-depth practical knowledge of various instrument types (pneumatic, electrical, electronic, digital).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for effective troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Physical fitness to work in industrial settings and sometimes in conditions that may require physical effort.
• Good knowledge of industrial site safety procedures.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
