Job Description and Responsibilities
The IT Officer will be stationed at a location in Al Jahra and will be the primary person responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all technical systems and networks. The core responsibilities of this position include:
- Managing and Maintaining IT Infrastructure: Overseeing servers, network devices (routers, switches), storage systems, and ensuring their optimal performance.
- Technical User Support: Providing technical support to resolve IT-related issues faced by employees, whether related to hardware (computers, printers) or software and operating systems.
- Network and Information Security Management: Implementing basic security measures to protect the network and data from cyber threats, and ensuring protection systems are regularly updated.
- Installation and Configuration of Equipment/Software: Installing new computer equipment, deploying required software, and configuring user accounts on the network.
- Data Backup Management: Ensuring an effective system is in place for backing up critical data and performing recovery operations in case of emergencies.
- Process Documentation: Preparing and updating technical documentation related to network configurations and common troubleshooting solutions.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinating with IT hardware and software suppliers to ensure proper maintenance and support.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in IT support or systems/network administration.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and desktop OS (Windows 10/11).
- Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network device management.
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Knowledge of backup and data recovery systems.
- (Preferred) Basic knowledge of information security and security practices.
- Personal Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Arabic and English).
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to self-learning and keeping up with technological developments.
Work Location and Environment
The primary workplace for this role is in the Al Jahra area of Kuwait. The nature of the work may occasionally require on-site presence or providing support outside of official working hours in case of emergencies.
