IT Support Engineer (Tier 3) – Infrastructure & Cloud

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The IT Support Engineer (Tier 3) will act as the final point of escalation for complex, technical issues related to on-premise and cloud infrastructure. Key responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and resolving complex system, network, server, storage, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) issues that cannot be resolved by Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams.
• Managing, maintaining, and monitoring both on-premise and cloud-based server environments to ensure maximum availability, performance, and security.
• Designing and implementing improvements to existing infrastructure, and working on projects involving cloud migration or cross-cloud platform transitions.
• Developing and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical knowledge base articles for the IT support team.
• Working closely with network engineering, cybersecurity, and software development teams to ensure seamless system integration and resolve cross-functional issues.
• Providing advanced technical support during major incidents or outages, which may require work outside standard business hours.
• Evaluating and testing new technologies and making recommendations for improving the company's IT environment.

Qualifications & Core Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in IT support, with at least 3 years specifically in a Tier 3 support or infrastructure engineering role.
• Deep hands-on experience in managing and maintaining server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Strong experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Firewalls).
• Proven hands-on experience in managing and provisioning cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Relevant professional certifications in these platforms will be a significant advantage.
• Solid understanding of storage systems (SAN/NAS) and cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical teams.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is essential. Knowledge of Arabic will be an additional advantage.
