Job Description and Responsibilities

The IT Support professional at Jumbo will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth technical operations across various company departments. The core responsibilities expected for this position include:

  • Providing first and second-level technical support to internal staff regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, operating systems, and office applications.
  • Diagnosing and resolving network faults, ensuring stable internet and Local Area Network (LAN) connectivity.
  • Managing user accounts, passwords, and permissions within an Active Directory or similar environment.
  • Providing support for printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
  • Assisting in maintaining basic IT security and enforcing company policies.
  • Documenting issues and solutions in a ticketing system to ensure effective follow-up.
  • Supporting sales and inventory-related systems in a retail environment, which is core to Jumbo's business.
  • Collaborating with other teams or external vendors to resolve complex issues.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or a recognized technical certification (e.g., CompTIA A+).
  • Proven hands-on experience of at least 2-3 years in an IT Support role, preferably within a retail or service company environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (10/11, Windows Server).
  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical solutions in clear language to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic (required).
  • Customer-service orientation with a positive and proactive attitude.
