Laundry Manager - Pullman Doha Hotel

Job Description and Responsibilities
The appointed Laundry Manager will be entrusted with the complete oversight of all internal laundry department operations at the hotel, ensuring operational efficiency and strict adherence to health and safety standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Operational Supervision: Managing and planning the daily workflow of the laundry department, including the washing, ironing, and sanitization of all hotel linens such as bed sheets, bath towels, table linens, and staff uniforms.
- Quality Control: Ensuring all items are processed to the highest standards, conducting regular quality inspections for any damage or stains, and ensuring immediate corrective actions are taken.
- Team Management: Leading, training, and supervising the laundry team, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Inventory and Budget Management: Monitoring inventory levels of detergents, chemicals, and supplies, and placing purchase orders within the allocated budget. Working to optimize efficiency to reduce waste and control costs.
- Maintenance and Safety: Ensuring the preventive and regular maintenance of all washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment, and maintaining full compliance with occupational and environmental safety regulations.
- Internal Coordination: Working closely with other hotel departments such as Housekeeping, Restaurants, and Kitchen to fulfill their clean linen requirements in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in managing and operating a large hotel laundry or similar service facility, with a proven track record in team leadership.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of different fabric types, appropriate washing programs, the use of specialized cleaning chemicals, and sterilization standards.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to motivate a diverse workforce, manage performance, and train staff on best practices.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication, proactive problem-solving, and a positive work attitude.
- Educational Qualification: A diploma or relevant qualification in Hotel Management or Hospitality services is considered a strong advantage.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English for written and verbal communication. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant plus.
