Job Description
The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading and directing all technical aspects related to electrical systems for assigned projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Technical Leadership & Supervision: Leading a team of electrical engineers and technicians. Overseeing the complete electrical design of projects, from initial concept through to final execution and testing.
- Design & Engineering: Developing and reviewing electrical schematics, load calculations, equipment specifications, power systems, control systems, and lighting systems. Ensuring all designs comply with local and international standards (e.g., Kuwait National Electrical Code, IEEE standards, safety regulations).
- Project Management: Close coordination with project managers, engineers from other disciplines (mechanical, civil), contractors, and clients. Preparing schedules, budgets, and progress reports for the electrical components of the project.
- Quality Assurance & Safety: Implementing and managing quality assurance and control programs for all electrical works. Ensuring the highest safety standards are applied throughout all project phases, from design to installation and commissioning.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Providing specialized technical support to resolve complex issues arising during design, construction, or operational phases. Conducting technical investigations and proposing practical, effective solutions.
Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on the design and supervision of large-scale projects (e.g., industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects). This experience must include at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep proficiency in electrical power systems, distribution systems, control systems, protection, and lighting. Strong knowledge of engineering design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or similar.
- Personal Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to manage a team and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Professional Certifications: A professional certification like (Professional Engineer - PE) or equivalent is a significant advantage. Knowledge of Kuwait's building and electrical regulations is required.
Work Environment & Location
