Job Overview
The Legal Manager will hold a pivotal role within the company's structure, serving as the primary officer responsible for all legal and compliance affairs. Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties
- Overseeing the legal structuring of new deals and investments, including mergers & acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Drafting, reviewing, and approving all types of contracts and agreements (investment, commercial, employment, partnership, etc.) to ensure the protection of the company's interests.
- Providing proactive legal counsel to senior management and various company departments regarding legal risks and obligations.
- Managing relationships with external law firms and overseeing litigation when necessary.
- Ensuring the company's full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and statutes in the UAE, particularly those related to the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and free zones.
- Developing and implementing internal policies and procedures related to governance and compliance.
- Leading the internal legal team or supervising legal affairs.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university. A Master of Laws (LLM) or an advanced professional legal qualification will be a distinct advantage.
- The candidate must possess a valid UAE Practicing Lawyer License.
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of practical legal experience, with a strong focus on corporate law, commercial business law, and/or investment & financial services law.
- Prior experience working within investment companies, investment funds, financial institutions, or reputable law firms specializing in this sector.
- In-depth knowledge of the UAE's legal and regulatory framework, including free zone laws such as DIFC and ADGM.
- Excellent analytical and advisory skills, with the ability to interpret complex legislation and apply it to business scenarios.
- Superior proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
