LV/MV Testing Engineer Job in Kuwait City, Kuwait
KUWAIT JOBS HERE is currently seeking a qualified and experienced LV/MV Testing Engineer for a position based in Kuwait City, Kuwait. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to join a vital and evolving sector, contributing to key electrical power and infrastructure projects within the State of Kuwait.
Job Description
The Testing Engineer will be responsible for a range of critical technical and engineering tasks, including:
- Planning and supervising the execution of safety and performance tests on Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) equipment and systems.
- Preparing detailed test protocols and plans in accordance with international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and local specifications.
- Operating specialized testing equipment such as: Insulation testers (Megger), High current test sets, Power quality analyzers, and Protection relay test sets.
- Analyzing test results and preparing accurate, clear technical reports detailing equipment condition and maintenance or repair recommendations.
- Consulting and coordinating with engineering, project teams, and contractors to ensure testing is completed within schedule and required quality standards.
- Ensuring full compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures during on-site inspection and testing activities.
- Assisting in troubleshooting electrical system faults and providing engineering solutions.
- Reviewing and approving contractor documentation related to test plans and results.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in testing and commissioning of LV/MV equipment, preferably within a contracting or power services company environment.
- Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems, transformers, circuit breakers, and control gear.
- Proficiency in relevant international standards (IEC 60204, IEC 61439, IEEE 43, etc.).
- Practical experience with engineering analysis software and reporting tools (e.g., MS Office Suite).
- Personal Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills in both Arabic and English.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Flexibility to work at various sites and occasionally outside standard hours as project demands require.
Work Location
The position is based in Kuwait City, State of Kuwait. Work may involve travel to various project sites within the country.
