GINCO Cont. Co. LLC, a prominent contracting company, is currently recruiting for the position of Mechanical BIM Modeler to be based in its headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Mechanical BIM Modeler will be assigned to the company's Design and Engineering department, with primary responsibility for creating and managing Building Information Models for mechanical systems across various projects. Core duties include:
- Modeling & Design: Creating and developing accurate, detailed 3D BIM models for mechanical systems (such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection) using specialized software like Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Coordination & Integration: Working closely with other design teams (Electrical, Architectural, Structural) to ensure full interdisciplinary coordination and clash detection before the construction phase.
- Drawing Production: Extracting necessary layouts, details, and schedules for site use and approvals from the 3D models.
- Quality Control: Reviewing models and drawings to ensure compliance with local and international standards, as well as client requirements.
- Technical Support: Providing support to the site execution team by clarifying models and resolving any design issues that may arise.
- Updates & Maintenance: Maintaining and updating model files throughout the project lifecycle to reflect any design changes.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) with a focus on mechanical systems. Experience gained with contracting or consultancy firms in the Gulf region is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP (a mandatory requirement).
- Good working knowledge of other Autodesk software such as AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- A deep understanding of international codes and standards for mechanical systems (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA).
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics.
- Soft Skills:
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage time and multitask in a fast-paced project environment.
