Job Overview
The MIS & Financial Reporting Manager holds a strategic position within the Authority's organizational structure. The core of this role is to lead and develop an integrated system for collecting, analyzing, and transforming financial and administrative data into strategic insights and actionable information that supports high-level decision-making. Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Reporting Team Leadership: Supervise a specialized team in preparing financial and management reports, delegate tasks, and ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and deadlines.
- MIS Systems Development: Design, implement, and maintain Management Information Systems that meet the evolving needs of the Authority, ensuring their integration with other financial systems.
- Strategic Reporting Preparation: Take charge of preparing periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and special reports for the Board of Directors, committees, and external stakeholders in accordance with international standards.
- Financial Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide proactive recommendations to senior management.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all processes and reports comply with the Authority's internal policies, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and applicable regulations in the Sultanate of Oman.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in reporting and data collection processes, and propose and implement technological solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Effective Communication: Deliver clear and concise presentations and reports to senior management, explaining complex financial results in an easily understandable manner.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced professional certifications (such as CPA, CMA, ACCA) are a significant advantage and are often a prerequisite.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in financial accounting or financial reporting, with proven experience of at least 3 years in a leadership role (Manager or Head of Department) overseeing MIS systems and reporting in a large financial institution or investment firm.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Strong experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle, and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Personal Skills: Leadership ability to motivate and manage a team. Exceptional analytical and investigative skills. High accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English. Ability to work under pressure and tackle complex challenges.
- Contextual Knowledge: Good understanding of the investment environment and financial markets, particularly within the context of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) economies.
