Job Description and Responsibilities
The Test Engineer will be assigned to the Quality Assurance team, where they will be primarily responsible for ensuring that mobile applications (on both iOS and Android platforms) run smoothly, are bug-free, and meet the highest user experience standards before release. The core responsibilities expected for this position include:
- Designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and strategies for mobile applications.
- Creating and executing both manual and automated test cases (Automated Test Scripts).
- Conducting various types of testing such as: Functional Testing, Performance Testing, Compatibility Testing, and Usability Testing.
- Identifying, accurately logging, and tracking bugs using specialized tools like JIRA or similar.
- Working closely with Software Developers and Business Analysts to understand requirements and clarify testing issues.
- Preparing detailed test reports and providing constructive feedback to the team.
- Participating in different development stages to ensure testing is integrated early and at every phase (Shift-Left Testing).
- Staying up-to-date with the latest trends in mobile technologies, testing tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications and Core Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven practical experience of at least 3 years in a similar role as a "Mobile Test Engineer" or "Mobile Application QA Specialist".
- Deep knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Hands-on experience using mobile application testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Detox).
- Strong familiarity with programming languages used in test automation such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, or JavaScript.
- Good understanding of major mobile operating systems (iOS and Android) and their various versions.
- Experience using bug management and project tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in testing APIs and Backend Services.
- Knowledge of DevOps concepts and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Professional certifications in testing such as ISTQB.
- Experience testing applications in Cloud environments.
