Platform QA & Automation Lead - Starlink WLL - Doha

Job Overview
The successful candidate for this leadership role will occupy a central position in ensuring the quality and reliability of the technical platforms and systems developed and managed by the company. The Lead will be responsible for guiding the QA team, establishing comprehensive testing plans and strategies, and spearheading automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive QA and Automation strategy for the platform, aligned with business objectives and the company's technical evolution.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of QA and Automation engineers, including professional guidance, task allocation, and ensuring the highest performance standards are met.
- Test Planning & Execution: Design and establish detailed test plans (Master Test Plan) covering all levels (Unit, Integration, System, Acceptance) and types (Functional, Non-Functional, Performance, Security) of testing.
- Automation Leadership: Identify suitable test cases for automation, lead the efforts to build and maintain a robust test automation framework, and ensure its continuous maintenance and evolution.
- Quality in Lifecycle: Work closely with development teams (DevOps/Agile) to integrate QA and automation practices early and throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test results, identify patterns and root causes of issues, and prepare clear, comprehensive reports on product quality for management and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Research new tools and methodologies to enhance quality processes and culture within the organization.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Practical Experience: Proven experience of at least 7-10 years in software quality assurance, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role for a QA/Testing team.
- Deep Technical Expertise: Strong command of common test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar).
- Methodological Knowledge: Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum or DevOps environments.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent ability to lead, motivate a team, and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Analytical Skills: Superior ability to analyze complex requirements, design comprehensive test cases, and solve problems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ISTQB Advanced Level) are a strong advantage.
