Pre Sales Engineer – Building Management Systems

Job Description

The Pre Sales Engineer will be a cornerstone in bridging the company's technical capabilities with the needs of potential clients. The role will focus on supporting the sales team during the critical early stages of the sales cycle for large and medium-scale projects.

Key responsibilities are expected to include:

• Technical Sales Support: Work closely with sales representatives to accurately understand client requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions based on Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Preparation of Technical & Commercial Proposals: Develop and present detailed technical proposals and preliminary feasibility studies that meet project specifications and highlight the value-added benefits of the proposed solutions.
• Conducting Presentations & Demonstrations (Demos): Deliver professional presentations and demonstrations to potential clients, showcasing the features and functionalities of BMS, and their ability to improve energy efficiency, security, and comfort within facilities.
• Solution Design & Conceptualization: Contribute to the initial design and conceptualization of systems, including the selection of core components (controllers, sensors, interfaces) and providing technical cost estimations.
• Responding to Technical Queries: Address complex technical inquiries from clients and provide necessary clarifications during the Tender or negotiation phases.
• Keeping Abreast of Technical Developments: Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in Building Management Systems, automation, and energy efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation & Control Engineering, or Computer Engineering).
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a similar role (Pre Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer) or in designing/implementing Building Management Systems (BMS) or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of BMS principles, systems, and communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, lighting, power, and fire & security systems in buildings.
  • Good familiarity with software used for design and presentation (AutoCAD, diagramming tools, presentation software).
• Personal Skills:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Arabic and English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to non-technical clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and collaborate with sales and engineering departments.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
