Procurement Coordinator Job in Abu Dhabi

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Coordinator will be entrusted with a range of vital responsibilities that support the department's and company's overall objectives. Key duties include:

  • Purchase Order Management: Accurately preparing, executing, and following up on purchase orders (POs) to ensure goods and services are received on time and to the expected quality.
  • Vendor Communication: Acting as a key liaison between the company and its suppliers. This includes sourcing new vendors, evaluating quotations, and negotiating prices and terms to achieve the best value.
  • Tracking and Logistics: Monitoring order shipments and ensuring their arrival, as well as coordinating with shipping and receiving departments to resolve any logistical complexities.
  • Record Maintenance: Updating and maintaining an organized and transparent vendor database and procurement records, facilitating the audit process and reporting.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Ensuring all purchasing activities are conducted in accordance with the company's internal policies and procedures, and any relevant regulations.
  • Team Support: Providing administrative and logistical support to the procurement team and other relevant departments, and contributing to process improvements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar role (procurement, supply, contract management) within a corporate environment. Experience in the UAE or GCC market is a distinct advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel). Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle is a strong plus.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
    • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
    • High-level organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Team spirit and the ability to work independently.
